Who are we?

Bogdan Georgescu – national champion and world vice-champion in coffee roasting (World Coffee Roasting Vice Champion, Taipei 2019).
Marius Beju – communication and branding professional, with a clear vision for building vibrant brands.

Together, we founded MABÓ — a project that unites technique and aesthetics, curiosity and empathy, simplicity and depth.

But behind us, there is always the real force: family. It is what balances us, inspires us, and reminds us every day why we do what we do — for people.

Beyond MA and BO

MABÓ means more than just "MA" and "BO."

We are a team of passionate people who roast, prepare, package, and create experiences every day with the same care and joy.

Each person on the team contributes to what you feel in your cup — energy, care, and the MABÓ spirit.

🏆 International Recognition

In addition to Bogdan Georgescu's title of Vice-World Champion, we are the only roastery in Romania nominated and awarded at The European Coffee & Hospitality Awards, reaching the Top 3 best specialty coffee roasteries in Europe.

This recognition confirms what motivates us every day: attention to detail, respect for origin, and the constant desire to put roasted coffee in Romania on the world map of excellence.

What are we doing?

We roast specialty coffee, in carefully selected batches, sourced from transparent and sustainable farms. We do it locally, in the heart of Bucharest, at MABÓ Roastery Vulturi — and we offer it at:

our 3 own locations (MABÓ Roastery Vulturi, MABÓ ONE, MABÓ Bakery & Coffee)
partner cafes in Romania and abroad
online, here on mabo.coffee, delivered wherever you are

The character MABÓ

You must have noticed it on our packaging.

It lives in each of us.

It's curious, changing, sometimes calm, other times full of energy—but always present, every time a good coffee brings meaning to a day.

The character MABÓ is about you:

— the curious, energetic, always in search of the perfect taste.

Graphically created to embody the MABÓ customer, the character has multiple faces and moods, just like us. Today they discover a coffee from Colombia, tomorrow a vibrant Ethiopia — and each choice becomes part of a whole.

Viewed separately, the packages tell different stories, but together, they reveal unity: the same search for taste, emotion, and balance.

Just as each of us is made up of many versions, but all carry the same essence — the joy of a carefully made coffee.
