Las Palmas – Acevedo, Columbia Coffee
Acevedo, Huila, is one of Colombia’s most vibrant regions when it comes to specialty coffee. Here, in the heart of the mountains, the Las Palmas farm grows coffee on fertile soil at an altitude of between 1400 and 1600 meters – ideal conditions for varieties like Caturra and Castillo.
Brayan Alvear, a visionary young producer, experiments with modern processing methods to bring a memorable experience to the cup. The batch we selected underwent a Strawberry Honey process – a natural infused fermentation that emphasizes intense but well-balanced flavors.
Strawberry Honey
The processing of "Strawberry Honey" starts with carefully selected cherries, fermented with the addition of natural strawberry compounds. The berries are then slowly dried, with partial pulp, which allows for the intensification of sweetness and fruity notes.
The result is a vibrant coffee with an explosive aromatic profile, while maintaining the clarity and finesse of a superbly executed batch.
Tasting notes – Red fruits, high sweetness and generous body
Las Palmas is an expressive coffee, dedicated to those seeking complexity but also pure flavor. In the cup you will find clear notes of strawberry, peach and blueberry , wrapped in a high body and an intense sweetness .
It has medium acidity , well integrated, and a lingering aftertaste with tones of ripe fruit and natural syrup. A memorable coffee in both espresso and filter.
This coffee is for those who appreciate innovation in processing, but also balance in the cup. It is an inspired choice for home baristas and professionals alike, offering a versatile base for creative espressos, as well as bright and fruity brews.
